HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Back in the 90s I was part of the full time year long creative staff at the Macy's Parade Studio in Hoboken New Jersey. It was a privelege to help create many of the floats and work with many talented artisans(under the direction of famed parade designer Manfred Bass)getting ready for the big show on Thanksgiving morning for all to delight in. As usual I will be at the parade but as a veiwer enjoyng all the new floats, balloons and and entertainment. If you have never seen it in person I would recomment it! Here is a photo from long ago on parade day. My first parade was the year that it snowed for the first time on Thanksgiving morning in over 50 years. Click on the image to read the poem writen by my mother many years ago. We worked all through the snowy night to assemble the floats getting done just in the nick of time at 9AM as the parade was about to kick off at 77th street. To see the latest from the studio, view on Youtube by searching behind the scenes of the Macy's Parade 2009 and with the new head designer John Piper. Happy Thanksgiving 2009
